Summer.. what’s not to love about this season. The flowy dresses, the light and bright colors and just how easy and breezy everything feels. Exotic fruits, morning swims and golden sunsets.
This summer is a special one for me, I’m expecting my first in September and though I have to say at times, the heat feels overwhelming, I’ve been having some fun styling my baby bump. I’m definitely not one to shop at maternity stores, and these days you really don’t need to, with the right cut and style, going one size larger will do the trick.
But what you do come to also realize when you sport a round belly, is you can no longer follow seasonal trends, especially when they encompass midriff-bearing tops and sheer cut out panels, so you stick to the good old basics. Floor length gowns that don’t necessarily feel like tents, there’s no shame in hiding those new curves but at the same time, something that won’t add discomfort to your ever growing bump.
I plan on writing a post on how I’ve managed to stay fit during pregnancy, and believe me when I say it’s not easy, I’ve had my ups and downs, days when I feel like tossing those organic veggies for a chocolate binge, and sometimes I do. But that’s for a later post.
I styled two of my favorite items this summer in two different looks. I was happy to discover Bana Sunglasses, boho-style customized sunglasses inspired by summer’s most epic adventures. I am obsessed with my pair, they make me feel like I’m on one long vacation and go with almost everything. I don’t plan on taking them off this summer so you’ve been warned. You can check out the many different styles here
Furla also invited me to discover their latest Pre-Fall 15 Collection and one of (the many) bags I fell in love with is the new Stacy bucket bag in blue. I’m a huge fan of Saffiano Leather and I’m usually an even bigger fan of bags that can hold their form and this one does so flawlessly even after a lot of wear. There are endless ways to style the bucket bag which I’ll be doing all season long.
I styled them with this cotton dress from Oysho, who have spoiled me this summer and a pair of navy and white Chanel Espadrilles.
Happy August!
