Let’s be honest, we’d all much rather avoid the dentist. And as much as visits should be preventative, they almost always end up being last minute emergency appointments. But my recent visits to the dentist have been far from scary or forced. In fact, I was invited by MEDIC8 Clinics to come in for a preliminary assessment of my teeth by Dr. Fady Yaacoub, the Chairman, Head Orthodontist and Founder.
My teeth were never perfect but I was mostly satisfied with them, and was lucky never to need braces even though my two brothers did as well as half my classmates in Elementary school. Having said that, there was something that always bothered me about them, one of my upper four frontals was almost totally twisted to the side revealing a small gap, it was always in the way of my almost straight teeth. I never brought it up because honestly I didn’t think something could be done to one single tooth but it made me insecure about my smile.
I’m not going to lie, I was skeptical, I felt like Dr. Fady would take one look at my not-so-perfect somewhat small teeth and tell me I needed a full smile makeover or perhaps even try to sway me towards dental veneers. But to my surprise, he complimented me on my natural smile and asked me what I would change about them, if anything. Before I tell you more about that, and the process let me give you a brief overview on this cutting edge practice and clinic.
MEDIC8 is made up of a team of handpicked medical and dental practitioners with diverse specialties in order to offer clientele an overall integrated and personalized service. Basically like a one-stop-shop of everything from Cosmetic and Orthodontic Surgical Solutions, Implant dentistry to Cosmetic procedures.
Don’t expect a typical white, cold and sterile intimidating space. The interior is sophisticated and luxurious to say the least, designed by Sari El-Khazen with soft color-schemes and comfortable features that give the clinic a calm and relaxing atmosphere making you feel more like a guest than a patient in a welcoming and eye-catching modern reception area. Floor to ceiling glass walls reveal peaceful state-of-the-art treatment rooms with the latest equipment.
But let me tell you why my experience was a great one. Dr. Fady did not try to convince me to get veneers nor tell me why I absolutely must have a perfect smile. On the contrary, he insisted I keep my smile natural the way I like it. As for my upper twisted tooth, he opted for braces, but if you think that I would have walked out looking like an awkward metal mouth you’re wrong, those are a thing of the past. In fact, I think no one should ever endure visible braces again.
My braces were Damon Speed System (Lingual) which means they were glued on the inside and invisible. The best part is they took less than half an hour to install. Yes I had braces for over 4 months and no one could tell. How amazing is that! My tooth gently straightened out in no time, with absolutely no pain or discomfort. It was such a relief and I know many adults who also have this fear of getting their teeth fixed at a later stage because of the thought of braces, will find this short-term alternative solution ideal.
You can learn more about my treatment here. Although I’ve gotten my teeth cleaned I have not yet been able to experience the Whitening Technology Medic8 offers since I became pregnant throughout the process but I will next Spring and I can’t wait to share with you the results. This is my honest testimony and another one of the many reasons I have to smile more and if you like what you read you can book your consultation at Medic8.
