Has anyone spotted this billboard on the highway? What does this say to our dear men? Here is my interpretation:
Dear men,
If you invest in this white suit on your big day, you too will become a Lord, a lord with an obedient bride-slave that is. She will be, as you’ve always fantasized for her to be, by your feet, like a dog, waiting for your every command. You may have noticed the big metal chains in the pic- from time to time, it’s a good idea to torture your woman,or at least ensure she remains fearful of you, screw this whole women rights BS, obedience is an essential element to every successful relationship. But in general, this suit should keep her in check. Pimp it up Yo.
I think I may have to strip the folks who did the “Le Bijou est aussi un droit“ campaign off their “ Lebanon’s Shallowest Ad” title, this new Ad is by far the uncontested winner. What do you think? Bisoux

This is so wrong on so many levels!!! And this is supposed to be a luxury brand targeted at people of a certain education and social standard!! Scandalous!!
MissBou says
Brings back the princess Lea scene to mind.. this never gets old! Amazing how guys love that! … oh but definitely buy the white suit, it’s the main deal breaker to enslaving women… :p
Yawmiyat Moughtareb says
I can’t understand what is that supposed to mean … :s

jAd says
Well not really since the model/tv personality dude wearing the white suit is gay
Gaytheist says
yeah he is gay. But in this ad he’s portrayed as the symbol of heterosexuality.
other heterosexual person says
usually when i see such adds they mean nothing to me. because i don’t care what these fashion people think its what’s people are supposed to wear right now just because they think its looks good. well fashion means nothing to me i buy the clothes i like when i take it of the shelves to try it on to see if it looks good on me. also i would never were a white suit for example to a wedding, formal event because simply it looks wrong.

oh my – what is so sexist about this ad – do you consider that maybe the ad can be read both ways – where if you’re a guy – you have the girl by your feet – while if your the girl – you get your guy served to you on the dinner table! heheh – just a thought!
Jasmine says
I think it is more subtle… do you see how her face is on the same level as, well… umm… his opened legs. I think this is the subliminal clue to men that they wanted to communicate…

Sad thats its Wissam Hana in the ad. The ad speaks to the patriarchy in our country that kills our country one day after the other. It’s not just women suffering from patriarchy, its men too. Problem is how do we change it?
Danielle says
I can’t believe what I’m seeing.

the issue is so many women are divorcing their men, IF they are not being treated like what this ad shows; controversial it is… when a woman says: “you should have controlled me, given orders, proclaimed in front of others, commanded me…. I cannot continue without being told what to do” they supposedly like a man in control of their lives, or so they say… this is so conventional, or those who claim otherwise, let them speak or hold their silence… the lamb man is not as desired and the wolf man, and something in between does not do the job.
Sleepless in Beirut says
Juan Paul, I wonder from where the “so many women” statement comes? You cannot simply assume that it’s a general truth. Sure, some women like to be pampered, taken care of, made to feel sheltered and protected – but in the modest amount of years I have spent on this Earth, I have never heard of a divorced woman or any woman for that matter, say “my partner should have controlled me, given orders, commanded me”. I am not sure where these women you have brought up come from…

it is the weekend in my expatriated residence, and now I have time to reply to sleepless in Beirut…
you are right, I presumed the written statement you refer to.
That said, I also have heard these statements, but intended not to generalize.
So we shall stay at the pampering of women so they believe the world had been invented for their entertainment… the danger strikes when the truth hits and the man he lessen or can no longer mollycoddle her for some reasons; there you might witness the change in the perception of the wife who might be inclined to slut-like behabior…
I tried not to generalize, again I am nobody tring to philosophize, just like you…
