I’m known to be a bit of a carnivore, I love me some tender good ‘old strip of filet de bouef.  I find that in Lebanon, consistency with beef is tough for many eateries to maintain; at times you can order the exact same beef dish over and over again and never end up with the same one. But one of the places I’ve been dining at for years that has not once disappointed and may serve hands-down one of the most succulent, mignon pieces of beef filet is the French cuisine é Café at Eddé Yard in Jbeil .

The atmosphere is wonderful, pedestrian-only areas in Lebanon are rare, and so this is one of the few spots which you can have a meal on a trottoir without getting choked up by diesel fumes, while exploring this  little square hidden at the heart of Jbeil souks.

If you’re dining with a date, you can start of with a double shared portion of a lovely crisp green rocca salad with simple balsamic vinaigrette to get your taste buds rolling. If the weather permits, they’ll probably grill them for you outdoors while you get teased with the loveliness of the aroma, but mind you, you won’t be the only one; the neighborhood felines will also come out to play as soon as they sense that you’ve ordered the best item on the menu.

I don’t know how or what they marinate that filet in but it will stand out for you instantly , and the portion is one of the largest and most generous I’ve had in the city, without compromising on taste or texture. The golden-soft side roasted potatoes infused in rosemary were quite the treat. But the best part of it all would be that buttery, creamy, dreamy mushroom sauce that accompanies the filet. An absolute must-have!

My friend had an eye-catching fish filet with some steamed vegetables and a lemony sauce that she instantly fell-in love with and highly recommends. It was toasted on the outside and soft and fluffy inside.

For dessert we shared a fresh’n warm Belgian waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with a comforting dark hot chocolate sauce. Truly a happy ending!  Bisoux

One of my favorite things to do when I hit up Beirut Souks is to sneak into Ladurée for some of  their heavenly Macarons. My absolute favorite flavors are the Griotte Amande and the Caramel à la fleur de sel.  Yes they may be priced at LL3000 a piece,  but I assure you it may be the best $2 you may ever spend. I’m heading there for my lunch break today,  I see no better way to welcome the weekend. Bisoux

Vintage McQueen and The Duchess Of Cambridge- A Match Made In Heaven

So Twitter went mad  when people starting reporting that Sara Burton of McQueen’s fashion house was spotted leaving Kate Middleton’s hotel, The Goring, in the early hours of the morning.Better yet I hear the dress that will make an appearance in just under two hours may actually be drawn from McQueen’s archives himself and tweaked by Sara! Traditional and conservative is nothing short is nothing short of what  I expect, yet dashingly royal with elements of tulle and the most delicate of embroideries. Kate Middleton has been true to her style from the beginning, and although some may have referred to it as boring ( think Diane von Fürstenberg), I think it’s a refreshing reminder for young ladies around the world, that you could still look super-fashionable and sexy without having to take it all off.  So her dress my be a combination of the below from McQueen bridal collections

And now for the tiara that the Queen may lend Kate for her walk down the isle, I’m on the fence so here are my top two choices:

The Russian Fringe

The Cambridge Lovers Knot
