Mascara can really give your look a much needed boost, even when you’re having a makeup-free kind of day, I think most ladies can attest to that. I’ve been on the lookout for some great mascaras lately, one that can give me length AND volume. A mascara that does both equally is not always easy to find, you sort of have to choose between one or the other.
L’Oréal Paris’s team sent over the new much-hyped about Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara, a couple of weeks ago and I was in for a very pleasant surprise.
Miss Manga is actually named after the immensely popular Japanese comic/cartoons “manga” since their eyes are overly exaggerated and doll-like, so I loved the concept right of the bat.
I really appreciated the flexi cone shaped brush, which if controlled properly allows you to ensure every little lash is covered in formula, something I usually struggle with when it comes to stiffer and stagnant brushes. I typically try to give my lashes a very generous first coat; I’m not big on second rounds as things can get clumpy and messy in the blink of an eye (literally) so I was happy to know that with Miss Manga, one round was more than enough to give me noticeably longer lashes while maintaining volume.
The second round will actually separate your lashes, making each bunch stand out alone. If you’re like me and prefer your lashes looking thick rather than scattered, don’t go for seconds.
I was most impressed with the formula, smooth enough to allow you to brush through your lashes a number of times without clumping or clotting or drying. (You’ll be surprised how fast that can happen, even with a brand new mascara.)
Verdict: Miss Manga definitely gave me longer dramatic lashes, especially if paired with the right eyeliner it can really make your eyes pop.
I also used L’Oréal Super Liner GelMATIC for this look and applied some champagne eyeshadow in the inner corner of my eyes to make them pop.
Have you tried Miss Manga?
