IVY’s Best And Worst Dressed At The 2010 Met Costume Institute Gala

Kristen Bell surprises us in a hot dress by Diane von Furstenberg

Hot couple alert. Sienna is stunning in that outfit, check out those killer shoes and Jude well..need I say more?

Rosario Dawson resembles a shabby flamingo.

Eva Longoria looks stunning in a creation by Marchesa, now this lady knows how to dress to impress.

One of my favorites of the night Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl in Atelier Versace

Tacky comes to mind when I see Gisele in this sorry excuse for a dress

Ok Anne I think you've overdone the princess look, show us a new look already. Didn't Miley Cyrus wear something similar to the Oscars?

Sarah Jessica Parker Wearing Halston Heritage. No wonder they picked her as their chief creative officer the woman knows exactly what she is doing. Golden glam girl indeed!

Jennifer finally gets it right. Our own man Zuhair Murad is responsible for this dazzling creation. Represent!!

Blake Lively in Marchesa reminds me of a seahorse, in a good way that is! The color is gorgeous and I love that she tied back her hair, since their is enough going on with that dress. Ladies take note!

World Cup In Lebanon-The Flag Phenomenon

I get it. We all love us some FIFA. It’s happens once every four years and it’s an excuse  for us to act like hooligans in our favorite team’s jersey all the while getting drunk during the day on some patio.

Here in Lebanon not only did we start super-early (February) but we always tend to take things to the next level. Don’t get me wrong, it is such a relief to see something other than the political party flags but you don’t need to pay much attention to notice that almost 50% of the cars on the road have flags hanging out of their car windows, their tops and their trunks!

Everywhere you look you see some country’s flag, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Trinidad and Tobago you name, it we got it. We even endorse countries that are NOT playing in the world cup. My friend Tania would dribble the ball during a football match yet she now has a Brazil flag the size of a swimming pool hanging off her balcony and has been sporting an Italy tank top all weekend.

Why do you ask? Let’s put aside the actual football fans for a second. We as a people:

A) Love to compete, it’s in our blood-  he who has the largest flag wins

B) Love supporting foreign countries that we perceive as “cool”

C) Need any excuse to draw more attention to ourselves (hence hanging three different countries’ flags from the same car, more color- more attention)

Any other reasons we could attribute this enthusiasm to, other than love for the game ofcourse? Do share. Bisoux

Broadband In Lebanon- 3anjad Bahdaleh

Is this genius or is this genius? A very smart, witty ad by the Lebanese Broadband Stakeholders Group (LBSG ).  Titled  “Broadband أهمّ بند ” meaning “Broadband, the most important clause“  touches on a topic very dear to many of us in Lebanon.

“Lebanese people have the right to benefit from the speed of a True Broadband Connection already available in many countries around the region. The LBSG asks every Lebanese to sign the manifesto and join the Lebanese Broadband Stakeholders Group.”

What are you waiting for? Sign the Manifesto Now!!

Coincidence,Inspiration Or A Downright Copycat?

Here’s a rising trend in Lebanon. And it’s NOT limited to fashion.

You know the drill.  You buy the new Tods she buys the new Tods.  You got that Zeki bikini, she buys three.  You grab of hold of Mac’s new special edition eye shadows, she had them “a week” ago Ya. right. You know she’s imitating, but you just can’t call her out.  In the beginning you convince yourself it’s all very flattering, you’re a natural trendsetter and she’s just a common follower. But the next time you’re out at Music Hall wearing your new BCBG slick black dress which you told her you were going to buy weeks ago and she’s standing there shaking her hips to Tony Hanna with the same dress as though nothing was, you know enough is enough.  The worst part is her complete denial, as though it’s a complete coincidence. Unless coincidence means stalking you while you’re shopping or taking down notes when you mention a fashion favorite, this is no coincidence my friends.  This is armed robbery. The woman needs to get a style of her own. Bisoux
