Feline-Unfriendliness

I can just picture what it’s going to look like at the hair salon today. Chaos!! All these women competing for the hairdresser’s attention and the poor man running around like a headless chicken trying to make everyone happy but someone is bound to accuse him of negligence.  Is it me or do anyone else sense an almost increase in hostility amongst women in Lebanon, be it on the streets or at the salon or during shopping?  It’s not rocket science I get it. Us women are more competitive , almost cat-like in nature, possessive, territorial you name it, and so it doesn’t take much for women not to click and not be shy about not clicking. But what I’m talking about here surpasses shyness, it’s more like a blunt in yo face  hostility. For example, the whole driving and honking business in Lebanon, for the past three times every single time I felt  a car is  tailing me or honking at me it happens to be a freakin woman!! My own sex is out to get me!! And it doesn’t stop there, it’s almost like these women are ready to get out of that car and whip your ass! The other day I found an empty parking spot and I parked in it, ( in front of my house) and suddenly someone honks at me out of nowhere and it wasn’t just beep beep beep it was a permanent BEEEEEEEEEEEP, like residents got out on their balconies to see what’s going on. And apparently this woman was “getting ready to park there.”  I’m not gonna get into the fact that it looked like she was already parked but I am going to pose this question, how hard would it have been for this woman, to let me know, in a civil manner, that I had taken her spot? Now had I resisted then, she can resort to honking. Or what about shopping? Did you ever find yourself checking out clothes on a rack only to find that somehow some woman suddenly appears between you and the rack and starts going through the rack herself as if nothing was?? And back to the hair dresser, have you ever gotten stared down by some woman only to stare back at her and not have her look away but continue glaring at you like she has every single right to do so? And the staring contest begins where you yourself find yourself giving her mean glares in return so she can back down and look away already. What about washrooms in clubs? Gone are the days where we used to share lip glosses and gang up on the opposite sex and now it’s nothing but “ it’s my turn to use the stall” and dirty looks. What’s going on ladies??!!! We are all in this together!! Let’s not forget which side of the team we play on. Its hard enough being a girl, united we are stronger. Ok I’m off to the hairdresser wish me luck. Happy 2010 and most importantly DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
