Have you ever had your eyebrows tweezed by the same lady for months and months that you just stop telling her how to shape them because you’re finally comfortable enough to surrender them to her? And then suddenly you’re reminded to never get too comfortable and to always make her feel the pressure to perform? So this weekend I go to the same lady (estheticienne) that I have been going to for the past 6 months. She seemed a little tired and her stomach was making some crazy rumbling noises. She told me she hadn’t eaten since the morning. “Well try not to snack on my eyebrows” I nervously joked. But I knew something wasn’t right. Her legs were super fidgety as she plucked away.
When she proudly presented me with the mirror to show me what she had done I had to fight the tears back. She had done the unthinkable. One of my eyebrows was clearly shaped like an ARCH!!! Does she not know how long it’s been taking me to get the straight eyebrows look?!! So I decide to explain to her where she had gone wrong (in the kindest way possible) and then she decides to get all defensive. I got a couple of excuses as to how she has nothing to with this:
- There is no arch ( it’s all in my head), they are as straight as they ever were
- There are parts of my eyebrows that just don’t grow, khalas.
- My ex- eyebrow lady was so bad she is just trying to salvage whatever is left of them.
- The Arch look is IN!! Serious
ly!?What happened to sorry I was so hungry I couldn’t concentrate? I mean I get it , you insult an artist’s sculpture and you won’t have a happy camper on your hands. But this particular artist’s work happens to be on my face!
